A nurse from the Cape has been charged with falsifying medicinal records at an Eastie physical condition facility to steal oxycodone pills according to bureaucrats Kaitlin Tipton of West Yarmouth was not long ago charged with drug larceny and drug obtained by fraud According to the Suffolk DA s office a Mass State Police trooper assigned to the Department of Population Soundness s Drug Control Undertaking discovered that Tipton diverted more than oxycodone pills from Advocate Wellbeing Care AHC She allegedly falsified the drug book and other medicinal records AHC is a long-term care and short-term rehab facility in East Boston where Tipton worked as an LPN Investigators detected that Tipton diverted the addictive pain med by not documenting doses removing more medication than ordered by doctors and making false entries on dates when she was not working Tipton notified police that she had a friend with back problems who turned to her for help She explained she diverted medication from the facility for her friend and reported she was unsure exactly how a great number of times she did so We ll likely never know where these pills ended up but we do know that substances like oxycodone and oxycontin are huge contributors to dependency issues we see in Boston and every other locality Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden commented So diversions from dispensing facilities must be taken seriously The Eastie judge distributed Tipton on personal recognizance and ordered her to stay away from the location of the offense Tipton is due back in court on Sept for a probable cause hearing
